Key Responsibilities will include:
To work closely with our Senior Youth Worker, club volunteers and young people themselves to assist in delivering a programme of activities that meets our young people’s needs and engages their interest
To support our Senior Youth Worker in planning activities, ensuring that the youth club provision is appropriate, inclusive and cost-effective, and supports young people’s personal development
To develop and maintain positive relationships with the young people attending the club, offering support and advice and identifying key issues relevant to them, as appropriate
To help ensure that young people play an active role in the youth club and are aware of their rights and responsibilities, both within the club and beyond
To develop and maintain positive relationships with the wider community including parents, volunteers and partner agencies
To commit to professional development, with a willingness to make the most of ongoing training opportunities
To work in ways which promote equality of opportunity, participation and responsibility
To work to safeguard the welfare of all members of the Youth Centre, in compliance with the Youth Centre’s safeguarding policy
To adhere to the Youth Centre’s policies and procedures, as well as statutory guidelines, including those on health and safety, child protection and equal opportunities
You will need to hold a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one.
The period of this contract is initially until the end of December 2022, however we hope to be able to extend it as we develop our youth provision.
