Office Manager

With the imminent retirement of the current postholder, Chesham Youth Centre is looking for a reliable, flexible, organised, self-starter to carry out a range of duties to provide practical, administrative, booking, and secretarial support to the Chesham Youth Centre and the Board of Directors.

The role involves dealing with queries to ensure the smooth running of the centre, and maintaining regular contact with stakeholders, centre users and hirers. Ensuring bookings are managed appropriately and exploring opportunities to increase the use and revenue of the Centre’s facilities by both regular and ad-hoc organisations and individuals.

Supported by, and responsible for, two cleaners and a caretaker/ handyperson you will keep our facilities organised and in useable condition, together with the oversight of the maintenance contracts and the undertaking of necessary works.

You will be required to work with the Treasurer on managing day-to-day financial transactions and processes, primarily invoicing and lettings.   

Secretarial support to the Board of Directors, including attendance at Directors’ meetings will also be required.

The job is based at the Chesham Youth Centre. Hours are Thirteen hours per week preferably to include Monday and Friday mornings, and other days by agreement. Occasional evening meeting attendance will be required.

Salary c.£8000 pa.
